Dirty Dancing the musical tells the story of a rebellious teenage girl and her search for love in all the wrong places.
Based on the 1987 smash hit film of the same name, Dirty Dancing the musical features the unforgettable romantic ballads The Time of My Life, and Hungry Eyes, and continues to enthral audiences around the world with its touching romantic tale of trust and love.
The year is 1963, and 17-year-old Frances ‘Baby’ Houseman is soon to learn some major life lessons, along with a few good tips on improving her dancing skills. While on summer holiday with her parents and older sister in the Catskill Mountains, New York, ‘Baby’ becomes bored with the resort’s rather dull activities.
Then one night she discovers a far more exciting source of entertainment when she chances upon a dusk-till-dawn dance party in the resort’s staff quarters. She is fascinated by the dancers’ sexy moves and the music’s rhythmic beat, and becomes even more enthralled when she spots the resort’s dance instructor, the handsome Johnny Castle. ‘Baby’ starts to learn the new dance moves, but is then thrown into the deep end when she becomes Johnny’s girlfriend and main dance partner with heart-stopping consequences.
